The man behind Perfumehead’s cinematic scents.

After a quarter-century in the beauty industry, Daniel Patrick Giles launched his own project in 2022: an exploration of his adopted home of Los Angeles through the lens of fragrance. Drawing on a catalog of references across Hollywood lore and pop culture, Perfumehead plays in what he calls the osmocosm—‘osmo’ referring to smell and ‘cosmo’ meaning universe. The result is a collection of narrative-led scents that each embodies a sense of place, onscreen and off. With his discerning eye and wealth of knowledge, Giles is an indispensable addition to the Committee. Here are his Violet Code Approved favorites.
