Product details
Fischersund is a Reykjavik-based multidisciplinary collective and fragrance house, led by the self-taught nose Jónsi—the lead vocalist of Sigur Rós—and his artist siblings. The brand weaves scent, sound, and personal memories into their artisanal lineup.
The No. 23 scent is rooted in the perfumer’s nostalgia for the weathered shipyard where he would spend days with his metalsmith father. This smoky, leathery fragrance is enlivened with black pepper and crisp notes of seaweed and salt, for a blend that speaks to the pristine nature in the Nordic region. Housed in a metal tin, each solid fragrance is handcrafted with sustainable scent molecules, wild herbs, and Icelandic oils, and comes wrapped in a cotton bandana with illustrations by Jónsi’s sister, Ingibjörg.
Top: Bergamot, black pepper, licorice
Heart: Cypress, Siberian fir
Base: Birch tar, amber gris, patchouli
A poem accompanies No. 23 to enhance the sensorial experience:
Smoke in the air and tarred telephone poles
Anis seeds and black pepper, tail freshly mowed grass and tobacco leaves
Dead flowers bow to the ground
In the breeze, the feminine fountain pine tickles the top of your skull
A beached whale is about to explode.
