For the past week, makeup artist Pati Dubroff and actress Dakota Johnson have been emailing inspiration images back and forth. The two were brainstorming the best beauty look to complement the star-adorned Gucci gown Johnson planned to wear to the Met Gala, and David Bowie and Debbie Harry reference photos abounded. The outcome? Otherworldly emerald green eyes. “Dakota loves to have fun when it comes to fashion and beauty, so she’s kind of a dream client,” says Dubroff. “The eyes include a pop of color, bright glitter, and a lash. This sounds like it could go all wrong, but it was all right.”
