“I’ve been a spokesperson for so many products and some of them I never actually tried,” admits Linda Evangelista. But she can’t say the same for Erasa XEP-30, an anti-aging serum full of neuropeptides that stimulates collagen growth, lightens darks spots, brightens the complexion, and eases facial muscle movement. In fact, Evangelista cites the powerful anti-aging concentrate as the very first beauty product that she finished completely: “[it] went dry on me.” The supermodel fell so hard for Erasa XEP-30 that she reached out to the team of scientists behind the patented formula to learn more. They clicked, and Evangelista is now the brand’s creative director and vice president.
Evangelista first encountered Erasa after the husband of esthetician Georgia Louise passed along a bottle to solicit her feedback. “I brought it home and I popped it on my nightstand because I wanted to look it up to see what it was about. I never did do that,” she laughs. “One night I hopped into bed and I decided to give it a try.” A couple of weeks later, while tweezing her eyebrows in a magnifying mirror, Evangelista had a not unhappy realization: she couldn’t believe how incredible her skin looked. “Who ever looks in the mirror and says, ‘My skin looks good?’” she asks. “I started putting it on morning and night, and a week later, when I went to tweeze my eyebrows again, I was in shock. I noticed that my melasma was fading and that my pores looked smaller. I started running around my apartment with my mirror to get different light because I couldn’t believe what I saw.”
But what she saw was real. So real, that Evangelista estimates 85% of her melasma has disappeared in the two years that she’s been a devotee of Erasa XEP-30. She even saw a reduction in dark circles and stopped using concealer. “I used to call my dark circles ‘navy blue’—you can even see them in my old Peter Lindbergh photographs,” she says. “He always said he loved my bags, which is the strangest compliment I ever got, but I don’t have navy blue anymore.”
LINDA BEFORE 10AM
01
VIOLET GREY: What is the atmosphere of your bedroom?
LINDA EVANGELISTA: I’m not going to not say that I have a big-screen TV in my bedroom, because I do. I know you’re not supposed to, but I do. I have a makeup studio with a built-in counter, a mirror with LED lights and all my products and perfumes. It’s totally a mess, but it’s a girl’s heaven!
02
VG: Please describe your bed and your favorite thing about it.
LE: It’s not a low-profile modern bed. It’s a big, honking, fat Tempurpedic ergonomic bed with remote controls on each side. My son and I get in and you control your own side. It’s like a big marshmallow. It’s ugly as hell, but I’m in heaven when I’m in it. Right now I have Matteo sheets on my bed, a summer duvet. I like the weight of a duvet, but in the summer I put a really light one on. I love my bed, but it’s not ready to be photographed. I don’t care. It’s good.
03
VG: What time do you wake up?
LE: I wish I could say 6 a.m., but I wake up earlier. It doesn’t matter what time I go to bed—I wake up between 5 and 6. I don’t even need an alarm clock.
04
VG: How many hours of sleep do you require?
LE: Probably six.
05
VG: Any bedside beauty essentials?
LE: Essential oils that I put in my doTERRA diffuser. And I like my Pure Essential—it's a room spray with 41 essential oils. I buy it from a pharmacy in Paris. Then I have my Lano Lips Hands Allover All-Over Everywhere Multi-Cream for my hands and feet, especially for the winter. Sometimes silicone socks. I get eczema in the winter because I wash my hands like 100 times a day. It’s a sickness I have. They get very, very dry. I like pure lanolin on the lips. I don’t really know why people have this fear of lanolin; I think it's an amazing, healing product. Besides the lip stuff we’re developing, if I’m in trouble with my lips, I put on lanolin. I love it—there's no odor to it, it's the right texture. And I keep a humidifier on either side of my bed in the winter. My apartment is dry.

VG: Do you drink coffee or tea, eat breakfast?
LE: I’m not against coffee, but it’s a treat for me. When I wake up I do a shot with E3Live, a tablespoon of Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar and a packet of B Complex Plus and Glutathione by Lypo-Spheric. I don’t stir it, I shoot it. Then I chase it with lime or lemon water. I make myself either Teeccino Mocha—it’s this chicory coffee—, Mighty Leaf Detox Tea, Pirates Chai, or Guayaki Yerba Matcha. That’s my crazy first thing in the morning routine.
07
VG: Do you work out in the a.m.?
LE: I like to work out in the mornings. If I don’t work out in the morning, I don’t work out. I have a trainer and every gizmo and gadget possible. He shakes it up and cross-trains me. I have a rebounder, a rowing machine, a spin bike, steps, slides, weights, a power plate.
08
VG: What is your morning skincare regimen?
LE: I do a cleanse—right now I’m using Elemis. At night I do a double cleanse with the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm. Then I do a liquid cleaner because I’m always wearing sunscreen and I find that using an oily cleanser gets it off way easier, and that there’s no residue after. Right now I am playing with the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence because I was given a bottle. Then I do the Erasa moisturizer that we’re developing, which has some sunscreen in it. I actually sleep in my Erasa moisturizer with SPF. It doesn’t clog my pores and I’ve been sleeping in it for nine months. If you had a called me two years ago, I would have given you 20 more products.
09
VG: What makeup and products do you use on a daily basis?
LE: I’m obsessed with my Rubis tweezers; that’s all I use. And I love my simplehuman magnifying mirror. I also love the Omorovicza Cleansing Mask. I have to say that I don’t use that much makeup anymore. I use less and less. I love to mix the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin into my Erasa moisturizer, so normally that will be my foundation for the day. But I also like the Kjaer Weis Foundation and the Hourglass Primer. I also like Ellis Faas and the RMS Living Luminzer. I have the Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate, I have the Guerlain Terracotta 4 Seasons bronzer. I love Le Metier de Beaute. For eyeshadow, I like Hourglass. And Chanel. I have a lot more. The list goes on.

VG: What’s your hair situation in the a.m.?
LE: I’m into these new hair products that my colorist gave me called Virtue. I’m using the entire line and I love it. I use the OUAI Wave Spray and the Philip B Oud Royal Mega-Curl Enhancer. I like Leonor Greyl hair products too. I always use the Hamadi Shea Cream in my hair as my stylizer and I have a T3 blowdryer, but I don’t really use it in the summer. But you guys sent me this Aquis Hair Turban and it’s genius.
