Founded by beauty industry veteran Richard Welch, UTU was born from a simple observation: while skin care has evolved into a sophisticated category focused on long-term skin health, sun protection has largely remained an afterthought. An avid outdoorsman, Welch set out to create a new kind of sustainably-minded SPF brand: one that treated sunscreen not as a seasonal necessity, but as an essential part of a daily skincare ritual. The result is what he calls "Outdoor Skincare®": a collection of mineral SPF formulas powered by non-nano zinc oxide and enriched with antioxidant-rich ingredients to tap into advanced skin care benefits.
