The in-flight beauty routine of the jetsetting editor gets a first-class upgrade courtesy of VIOLET GREY’s Beauty Director.

At VIOLET GREY, we believe that the beauty essentials you stow away in-flight are every bit as important as what’s on your vanity. Which is why we tasked Beauty Director Jayme Cyk with peeking inside the suitcases of some of our favorite frequent flyers. We grilled our jet-setting friends about their current on-the-go beauty rituals, and—because we can’t help ourselves—made a few recommendations as to how they might upgrade their routines. First up: fashion and beauty editor Fajer Fahad, whose flawless complexion belies her non-stop travel schedule. Read on for more.

FREQUENT FLYER STATS:

Name: Fajer Fahad

Occupation: Fashion and Beauty Editor

Homebase: Los Angeles, CA

Favorite Airline: Emirates.

In Advance or Last Minute? I always pack and plan ahead.

Organized or Whatever Fits? I always have a travel bag ready with all of my essentials in mini versions because I don’t like to take anything too large with me. If the travel size isn’t available of a product, I go to Muji and get clear containers. Also, I always label them so I know how much I have left.

Sleep, Read, Work, Movies, or Meditate: Sleep!

In-Flight Ritual: I get on the plane, wash my face, put on a toner, hydrate, apply a chilled eye mask, followed by a face mask, and then I pass out. Also, I carry around a sweater, a hoodie, cashmere cap, socks and an eye mask.

Travel Woes: Dry and puffy skin under the eyes.

What’s in Her Carry-On: La Mer Treatment Lotion Mask, Erno Laszlo Multi-Task Eye Serum Mask, Tata Harper Replenishing Nutrient Complex.

What VIOLET GREY Added: Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream, Sisley-Paris Eye Contour Mask, Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré, The Nue Co. Prebiotic + Probiotic, Chanel Hydra Beauty Nourishing Lip Care, Joanna Czech Silver Facial Massager, Vitruvi Lavender Essential Oil

The best travel companion is one that can fight dehydration, inflammation, and environmental stressors. Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream activates regeneration of the body’s own stem cells for a smoother, more supple complexion. Warm two pumps between the fingertips and apply in upward, sweeping motions over the face, neck and décolletage.

Fahad stressed that her eyes area is where she feels most dry. This smoothing mask is specifically formulated to depuff, smooth, and hydrate the fragile skin around and under the eyes.

Fahad is a fan of this multi-tasking French pharmacy staple. It triples as a cleanser-slash-makeup remover, moisturizer, and primer.

With all the traveling Fahad does, it’s important she maintains a healthy gut. This pre- and probiotic blend fights bloat, aids digestion, and calms inflamed skin from the inside out.

Another product that Fahad always keeps on hand is the Chanel Lip Balm. The nourishing formula smooths and hydrates for healthy-looking lips.

To avoid post-flight puffiness, Fahad should massage her face with Joanna Czech’s Facial Massager while wearing her favorite La Mer Mask Treatment Lotion Mask. The metal roller promotes lymphatic drainage, enhances natural bone structure, and increases the penetration of skin care products.

Fahad wastes no time when she gets on the plane. Once she has removed her makeup, toned, masked, and moisturized, she falls right to sleep. Vitruvi Essential Lavender Oil ensures she will have a restful slumber. Take a few sniffs and apply on your pulse points.
