She tests hundreds of lipsticks, but makeup artist Jamie Greenberg quickly made this new French palette a kit essential.

My first response when I got the Rouje Lip Palette? Gorgeous! And it’s something I’d want to pull out after eating a delicious lunch and reapply for everyone to see.
I use a lot of lipsticks, a slew of lip stains, and an assortment of lip glosses—you name it—but not all are created equal. To be completely honest, I didn’t know how this product would stack up. The woman behind Rouje—Parisian designer and influencer Jeanne Damas—always looks incredibly chic, so I was hopeful, to say the least. But damn: it really exceeded my expectations. This palette is not only gorgeous on the outside, but also on the inside. The first time I used it, I was blown away by the creaminess and coverage. The red, nude, brick, and wine-like shades remind me of the colors of my youth; they are an homage to the ’80s and fall wrapped into one. They look amazing on every skin tone, and you can even mix them together to create a custom color. The versatility of the palette is second to none: You can dab and push with your finger to fashion the perfect stain, or use a brush for full coverage. The formula is thick enough that you can also use a brush to line the lips.
Naturally, texture and shade are incredibly important, but when a product stands the test of time, you know it’s a winner. I applied it at 8 a.m., worked until noon, and had lunch, and I only had to touch up a little.
With that said, this product is for lip-color lovers. The formulas are rich and dense, and they really grab onto lips—delivering that je ne sais quoi that French women naturally possess.
