In honor of London Fashion Week, British makeup maven Charlotte Tilbury opens her address book.
Written By Christine Whitney

Makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury is quite the woman about town—during Fashion Month, many towns. But London is the place she calls home, so with the British shows upon us, it was only natural for The Violet Files to ask Tilbury to divulge her favorite local haunts. Below, a black book of the healthy eateries, facialists, and other beauty havens the flame-haired makeup guru loves most. What to wear there? Tilbury’s signature Feline Flick cat eye, of course.

Josh Wood
I am lucky enough to work with some of the best hairstylists in the world, so I will try to get my hair trimmed on shoots or backstage at show tests. Sam McKnightOribe Canales, and Malcolm Edwards are hair geniuses and also very generous with their talents. I don’t color my hair: I love being a redhead because it ensures you’re instantly recognizable and never forgotten. But if I did color, I would see Josh Wood at his Atelier in London—the salon is gorgeous and relaxing and he creates unrivaled cuts and color for the best supermodels and celebrities all over the world. Josh Wood: 6 Lansdowne Mews, London W11 3AN; +44 203 393 0977
Claudine Cooke
I have to fit in manicures around meetings, travel, family time, and my ruthless schedule, so I have a brilliant manicurist who comes to my house—she’s called Claudine Cooke. She has looked after my nails for years and is one of the best. You have to call for an appointment and she does home visits only. Claudine Cooke: +44 790 349 3674
Dr. Nigma Talib
I see Dr. Nigma for regular facials at her beauty practice in Notting Hill. She performs a number of needle-free treatments that reverse the signs of aging, including LED light facials with rejuvenating botanicals, and hyaluronic and hyperbaric oxygen facials to plump, revive, and hydrate skin. 11 Lambton Place, Notting Hill, London, W11 2SH; +44 207 792 8073
Anastasia Achilleos is a facialist who does home visits. She is famous for her holistic facial massage techniques, and she studied craniosacral therapy, reiki, and energy lines, so her facials are amazingly energizing. Teresa Tarmey is another phenomenal facialist with a beautiful salon in West London. She struggled with adult acne and dedicated herself to revolutionizing holistic acne treatment, and she also specializes in lifting red-carpet facials that turn back the ticking time bomb of age. Anastasia Achilleos: +44 793 933 1889; Teresa Tarmey: 12 Needham Road, Notting Hill, London, W11 2RP; +44 793 222 7092
Vaishaly Clinic
Brows are the pillars of the face—they can literally change your facial structure. I recommend the amazing brow genius Vaishaly for the most perfect brows in London—she is a famed life-changer. I also always use my three-way shape, lift, and shade Brow Lift tool at home as an instant fix. 51 Paddington Street, London, W1U 4HR; +44 207 224 6088
When I’m home in Notting Hill I love my local café The Grocer on Elgin for juices and fresh salads, and the deli at Mr Christians for the best hummus in London. I also love Spring by Skye Gyngell for beautiful, healthy food on special nights out. The Grocer on Elgin: 6 Notting Hill, London W11 2HX; +44 207 221 3844; Mr Christians: 11 Elgin Cres, London W11 2JA; +44 207 229 0501; Spring: Somerset House, New Wing, Lancaster Place, London WC2R 1LA; +44 203 011 0115
Bella Freud makes the coolest sweaters for both men and women and has a really fun shop. Mairead Lewin is great for the most special vintage dresses. Debbonaire is a brilliant boutique my friend Debbie Von Bismarck opened—it’s by appointment only and they have the most incredible one-of-a-kind finds. Luis Miguel Howard does amazing bespoke jewelry. I often commission him to create special gifts for friends and family and he will source stones specifically for you. And Rellik near Portabello Road is a wonderful vintage store I’ve been shopping at for years. Lots of designers and stylists go there for inspiration. Bella Freud: 49 Chiltern St, London W1U 6LY; +44 207 935 0777; Mairead Lewin: 20 Holland Park Avenue, London W11 3QU; Debbonaire: +44 207 590 9350; Luis Miguel Howard: +44 207 352 4280; Rellik: 8 Golborne Gardens, London W10 5NW, +44 208 962 0089
