An easy, universally flattering holiday party look for a quick makeup refresh | #VioletGrey, The Industry's Beauty Edit

– PHOTOGRAPHED IN THE STUDIO WITH VIOLET GREY

Party fatigue, as VIOLET GREY calls it, is the dreaded, lackluster feeling of an over-stretched holiday schedule that strikes throughout December. The siren song of a fireside cocktail alone at home suddenly distracts your attention from events that are, ordinarily, very exciting. Alas, whether your closest confidante delivers a convincing argument or the notion of sharing a fireside cocktail with someone seems alluring after all, VIOLET GREY has a prescription that need not be filled at the pharmacy. This easy beauty strategy doesn’t require makeup brushes, or even a poorly lit work bathroom, and can be done in less than five minutes thanks to the mistake-proof, blendable formulas.
This includes illuminating and hydrating skin, adding a festive sheen to eyelids, then defining the eyes with a smudgy, sultry liner. The full prescription, along with The Violet Code–approved products necessary for recovery, below.

This multipurpose formula instantly refreshes tired skin by adding a gentle glow and a dose of moisture. Dispense a dime-size amount on the back of your hand, then pat and gently blend the product onto the cheeks and cheekbones, above and below the eyebrows, down the bridge of the nose, over the Cupid’s bow, and over décolletage and shoulders, if they’re exposed.

The beauty of this universally flattering shadow is its ease. Press your ring finger into this shimmery, golden pigment and blend directly onto the center of the eyelids. Slowly add more color as desired, blending gently into the crease and over the entire lid, then use a clean finger to soften the lines. The sheer formula needn’t be perfect to instantly brighten and can be layered over existing shadow or liner.

Next, add intensity to eyes with a smudgy, black kohl liner. (Again, this need not be precise.) Using Guerlain’s Khol Me Kajal Eyeliner in Noir Volcanique, draw a heavy line on the top and bottom waterline, close eyes firmly and hold for a few seconds to melt it into the lash line, then add a second swipe to the waterline.
