industry experts:

house call
with dr. sturm
& JAIME KING

The expert sits down with client (and friend!) Jaime King to talk inflammation, travel-stressed skin, and her brand new baby line available exclusively at VIOLET GREY.

Dr. Barbara Sturm is one of the most sought-after skin care experts in the industry. But her jet-setting schedule makes it nearly impossible to get an appointment. Luckily, our recurring series House Call With Dr. Sturm is available for those not directly under the physician’s care.

This week, Sturm welcomes actress, model, mom and all-around-lovely-person Jaime King to her temporary Malibu residence (the globetrotting doctor is never in one place for very long). King—who has beauty knowledge that rivals most editors—is an informed patient. To wit, her first question for the doctor: “You talk a lot about anti-inflammation, which I think is important. What have you found scientifically through your work that really works the best?” See above for Sturm’s answer.

What else is covered in today’s episode? Consider this appointment more of a check-up than a thorough exam. King goes over the products currently headlining her routine, including Sturm’s recently launched Skin Food. The nutrient-rich supplement, the first ever approved by the VIOLET CODE, boasts anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative, and nutritive properties to decelerate the aging process by prolonging the lifespan of cells and retraining them to function as they did in their youth.

On the topic of youthful skin, Sturm gives King a first look at her new Baby & Kids Mini Molecular collection. And the pair recruits some fitting testers: their toddlers Pepper and James Knight. Free of fragrance and harmful irritants, the line features a hair and body shampoo, face and body moisturizers, nappy cream, and bathing milk. "I always like to put some milk in the bathtub and play with the kids because it's so good for the skin," says Sturm of the inspiration for her nourishing bathing milk. The kids’ verdict? A rock-solid "good!"
