Let’s face it: Maintaining just-stepped-out-of-the-salon hair color is a chore. With highlights, it’s easy to go brassy fast. Greys and dullness eventually get the better of rich, dark chocolate. But there’s a simple and elegant solution to these complex dilemmas.
Enter: Leonor Greyl’s Soin Repigmentant, a color-depositing conditioner that saves the day (and months between dye jobs). Like all of their oh-so-divinely French concoctions, it smells like heaven, provides a creamy, nourishing texture, calls on many natural (96% of them in fact) and organic ingredients, and most importantly, truly delivers. Just choose your shade (Icy Blonde and Dark Brown options are our go-tos) and work into towel-dried, just shampooed hair every 2-3 washes. Leave it on to penetrate like a hair mask for a few minutes, then rinse and comb out. The lavender-tinged blonde version visibly brightens and removes yellow, red-gold tones, and the brunette boosts vibrancy and counteracts brassiness. While the product doesn’t quite eradicate greys — nothing D.I.Y. really does, sadly — it does heroically blend and soften their appearance. Neither stains (unlike some we’ve tried) and both formulas contain ultra-hydrating meadowfoam seed oil, rice proteins, and babassu butter, which work in tandem to bestow your hair with a silky, shiny finish, which is really the best gift ever, no? It’s akin to the look your hair radiated when you left your colorist after many hours, sans the hassle.

As with every product on VIOLET GREY, the Leanor Greyl Soin Repigmentant reached our shelves once a minimum of 70 percent of testers deemed it a winner. At that time, we added it to our hair care edit with the Violet Code’s official seal of approval.
