WHY IT CAUGHT OUR EYE
When Olivia Chantecaille, creative director of the family-owned French brand Chantecaille, set out to make the perfect highlighter in 2014, she was adamant about formulating the finest-size particles. “I’m a fanatic about pearl size and texture,” she says. “I wanted to create something that felt more like skincare and less like makeup.” Mission accomplished. Packed with a botanical blend of bamboo, pea extract, and glucosamine to boost collagen, this highlighter not only delivers a brighter complexion, but also helps firm and smooth skin. “The Liquid Lumière gives the effect of a healthy glow,” Chantecaille notes. “It doesn’t look like you’re wearing makeup, but as if you just had a facial.”
THE ARTIST RESPONSE
“This highlighter is so versatile that you don’t have to use multiple products to create one look. I use it on the eyelids and cheekbones, I mix it with lipstick, and I even use it on the décolletage.”—Kira Nasrat, makeup artist
“It gives a soft, pretty, glossy luster to the skin. It’s a moist finish that looks lovely without large, chunky glitter or shimmer particles. It looks pretty on the eyes, too.”—Fiona Stiles, makeup artist
“I love this product. I use a tiny amount to give an allover glow on the face and neck. I also add it on the eyelids, cheekbones, and lips. Then all you need is a good brow and lashes. I like that the formula is superfine, so it’s subtle and not brassy looking.”—Jo Strettell, makeup artist
With or without foundation, tap the creamy formula onto the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, cupid’s bow, eyes, lips, or any other area you want to highlight.
