It’s safe to say Jen Atkin is booked around the clock. From styling a slew of celebrity confidantes (Chrissy Teigen, Kim Kardashian, and Cara Delevingne, to name a few) to managing Mane Addicts, a content platform dedicated to all things hair, Atkin has made quite a name for herself. But a packed schedule didn’t deter her from creating her own line of hair essentials. With her newly launched collection, OUAI (the most Parisian way to say yeah), Atkin was set on giving her clients, who offered input along the way, a shortcut to effortlessly cool locks. (Even the ultra clean packaging is selfie-worthy.)
Preeminent among the line’s standouts is Atkin’s Wave Spray, which delivers tousled, windswept strands to aspiring Frenchwomen everywhere. “While most wave sprays are made from sea salt, OUAI Wave Spray is made from rice protein, which creates piece-y separation without the dryness that comes from salt,” notes Atkin. Think of it as a dip in the Mediterranean for your mane, with added aromas of bergamot, rose de mai, magnolia, cedarwood, and white musk evoking a beachy vibe with an upscale touch.
“I like to use the Wave Spray on both wet and dry hair for styling. I love it on fine hair as a volumizer, as it gives great lift and hold to hair that normally falls flat. I also scrunch this on dry hair to give a natural wave and texture.”—Adam Campbell, hairstylist
“The Wave Spray is ultra lightweight and easy to use. I like to mist a little before styling to add body and hold. Also, I use it after heat styling to add effortless separation and lived-in sheen.”—Derek Yuen, hairstylist
