Week after week, our community of makeup artists has been raving about the healing and hydrating powers of skincare brand In Fiore. They noted that founder Julie Elliott is not only a masterful blender and perfumer, but also an all-natural beauty connoisseur, so of course we had to investigate. The more we learned, the more smitten we became.
Elliott, a globe-trotting devotee of ancient bathing rituals, launched In Fiore (the name means “flowered” in Italian) in 1999, inspired by old-world apothecaries and historical alchemists. In true artisanal spirit, her line of body balms and other skincare salvos are blended with organic food-grade oils, herbs, and floral waters from around the world—much to the delight of our makeup artists, who praise their rich texture, efficacy, and sublime scent.
Perhaps the best-known product from In Fiore’s line is the Bois de Rose Body Balm, a deep-conditioning potion that blends rosa damascena flower oil, vetiver, grape seed oil, golden jojoba seed oil, and vitamin E to deliver intense moisture. The balm also helps promote blood circulation and soothes stressed skin—plus it exudes a calming-yet-intoxicating aroma. Consider it your skin’s answer to guided meditation.
