organic grape water

Spotlighting the 100% organic mist that provides instant hydration

A simple question sparked the creation of grape-based French skincare brand Caudalie. In 1993, scientist Professor Joseph Vercauteren visited the Bordeaux vineyard of cofounder Mathilde Thomas just in time for the grape harvest. “Do you know you are throwing away treasures?” he asked upon witnessing the discarded grape seeds and vines. Veracauteren explained that those “treasures” offer antiaging benefits to the skin via potent actives such as polyphenols and resveratrol, ultimately resulting in a plumper, more hydrated complexion. Thomas took note, and two years later Caudalie was born, offering such vineyard-based panaceas as the slimming Herbal Tea and beloved Premier Vendanges Moisturizer

After Thomas’ father purchased a low-pressure processor to preserve his red wine, he noticed that the extracted water from the grape juice was also beneficial for the skin. So in 1998, Caudalie bottled its new hero, called simply Organic Grape Water. The 100 percent organic mist tones, hydrates, and soothes even the most sensitive complexions. Enriched with moisturizing polysaccharides and mineral salts, it provides an instant refresh whether you need an afternoon pick-me-up or just want to add a dewy boost to your makeup.

“I like to use the Caudalie Grape Water to dampen my Beautyblender sponge. This trick makes it soft and pliable, which is the secret to a flawless makeup application.”—Lottie, makeup artist
