When one thinks of the prolific hairstylist Jenny Cho, a tidal wave of red carpet mega-moments—Carey Mulligan’s sleek bob at the Oscars, Greta Lee’s scene-stealing mullet at the Met—and major magazine covers—Miley Cyrus’ bleach-blond mohawk for Elle, Jennifer Lawrence’s tousled waves for Vogue—spring to mind. Cho moved to Los Angeles from Seoul when she was ten and later went to study at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica, CA on the advice of her own childhood stylist, who had fielded Cho’s many questions over the years on the subject of hair. She credits her mother and grandmother for her work ethic and her Korean culture for instilling a sense of restraint in the modern-yet-timeless looks she creates.
