I’ve used the Christophe Robin hair care line for a long time—at least five or six years–and they are some of my favorite products, including his new Anti-Frizz Rescue Milk. As part of the Violet Grey Committee, I got to try it in advance of the launch and I have to say: It works wonders on both me and the clients I see at 454 North, my salon in West Hollywood.
When applied to dry hair, the Christophe Robin Anti-Frizz Rescue Milk eliminates flyaways and makes hair look more polished. I think it’s an especially great product for color-processed or parched hair because the shea butter formula adds moisture, yet keeps hair looking—and feeling—natural. I smooth it on my own puffy, bleached hair in the morning, and the result is always more control, which makes styling a lot easier. I love how the milky consistency gives my hair just enough weight to manipulate it, but with a semi-matte, lightweight finish.
Because I’ve used it in my salon, I’ve been able to test the Anti-Frizz Rescue Milk on a lot of different hair types. As long as you use the right amount, it’s an easy product for anyone—male or female—to add into their routine for a little extra nourishment. If you have fine hair, I’d say you only need a tiny bit like half a dime-size. For thick hair, use a little more. Either way, work it between your hands, then lightly rake it through hair with your fingers, focusing on the ends. Then gently run whatever’s left on your hands around the crown of your head to tame any flyaways. This also gives a little more shine and control on top.
I’ve tried a lot of frizz-fighting products throughout my career, and this one is special because it has a non-sticky feel and doesn’t weigh the hair down unlike other things I’ve used in the past. It just helps give your style a bit of shape and your hair some lovely hydration. Plus, it really guards against humidity to combat the chances of frizz happening at any point throughout the day.
