Project Manager

Job Summary

Do you live to motivate and align teams, run projects through to completion, and generally get sh#t done?  If so, you could be our next hire.  VIOLET GREY is looking for a highly organized and entrepreneurial Project Manager to help build project plans and ensure timely, on-budget execution of objectives.  The successful candidate must be business and operations savvy, and have prior PM experience, preferably in a start-up environment and/or in content production or e-commerce. 

What you’ll do:

  • Develop scopes, project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables that support critical business objectives across multiple teams, including Content, Marketing, Merch, Retail, Tech, and Ops. 

  • Act as the central focal point and authority for execution of projects.  Lead project teams (located in multiple time zones) through planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of all assigned projects. Ensure project priorities are in line with timelines for deliverables.

  • Motivate and communicate clear and timely direction to teams.  Conduct timely follow up with departments to maintain alignment during several points of a project.

  • Establish and track next steps arising from meetings; ensure teams are following up and completing tasks.

  • Work with CEO, COO, Finance, and other stakeholders to continuously assess and confirm the business and financial case of proposed and ongoing projects. 

  • Protect the Company and project outcomes by monitoring risks, managing change and unforeseen obstacles, and developing mitigation strategies and solutions.

  • Design and develop KPIs and effective reporting to facilitate business decisions and measure project success.


  • Proficiency in MS applications and Google products.  Experience with Asana, Jira, and Adobe programs preferred. 

  • Experience in content (photo, video, art) production highly desired.

  • Must have experience successfully developing and managing projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven (preferably start-up) environment.

  • Highly detailed oriented, with superior multi-tasking and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to problem solve and use critical thinking to work through obstacles.

  • Possesses firm but tactful follow up skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to the changing needs of the business.

  • Strong interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills.

  • Solid influencing and leadership skills.

  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure.

  • Minimum of three years of experience in project management.
