Director of Media and Partnership Sales

Job Summary

The Director of Media & Partnership Sales is responsible for meeting revenue goals by working closely with internal stakeholders to sell cross-channel content activations, brand collaborations, and corporate sponsorships. This experienced, solutions-based seller will play a lead role in developing and executing a strategy for prospecting, responding to, and creating RFPs; managing the entire cycle from start to close including planning and execution; and pitching, tracking, budgeting and forecasting. The desired candidate has an expert level understanding of video content and social media, beauty brand or retail experience, and a proven track record of developing new business within content, digital media, and/or social video. Reports directly to the CEO.

What you’ll do

  • Work with Brand Management and Merchandising teams to identify brand targets, hero products, key franchises, new partnerships, and content campaign opportunities for sales monetization.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure creative deliverables for proposals align with client provided insight, VIOLET GREY’s editorial POV, and calendar and/or other requested expectations.

  • Build activation program, develop and pitch vendor packages, and work cross team to present all new opportunities.

  • Manage a monthly activation calendar across all channels.

  • Be comfortable establishing new relationships with client-direct executives, including all decision-makers and key influencers from account managers to top management.

  • Generate pitch materials for sales opportunities and drive the development of supporting materials and media kits.

  • Ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.

  • Manage sales revenue and reconcile budgets and billing with finance.

  • Qualifications:

  • We are seeking a dynamic director with an entrepreneurial spirit, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast paced startup environment.

  • A passion for working closely with beauty clients to meet established KPIs and expectations.

  • 5-7 years in a sales or business development position with a luxury fashion or beauty brand or digital media company.

  • Strong digital media understanding and media planning.

  • An established strong and widespread network of contacts within the media industry, agencies, luxury brands, and retail community.

  • Demonstrable expertise in prospecting, inside and outside sales, and closing deals.

  • A proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales goals.

  • Excellent negotiating skills.

  • Innovative and collaborative problem solver with a drive for results.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact successfully with clients and teammates at all levels.

  • Master of sales best practices, selling techniques, and packaging development.

  • Cross-channel media experience including print, digital, social, and TV.

  • Positive, enthusiastic, and compassionate team player.
