The Community Director is responsible for managing communications with the VIOLET GREY community primarily focusing on our committee of artists, experts, celebrities, and beauty influencers as well as the media. This experienced, digital-savvy Director will play a lead role in developing and executing a compelling social media and influencer marketing strategy that grows brand affinity, engagement, reach, audience and, as a result, conversion. Reports directly to the VP, Brand Management & Communications.
What you’ll do
Expand VIOLET GREY’s Committee and influencer network and strengthen relationships with existing contacts including committee members, celebrities, celebrity agents, influencers and talent managers.
Conduct outreach to VIOLET GREY’s committee members in order to secure placements and brand tags as part of VIOLET GREY’s Committee-generated content (CGC) program.
Manage and execute all product gifting programs within budget.
Manage and develop VIOLET GREY’s contacts database.
Execute product send-outs, update media distribution lists, develop recap reports and agendas.
Act as forward-facing VIOLET GREY ambassador on Social Media providing followers with an engaging BTS peek at everything happening at VIOLET GREY.
Work closely with Brand Management stakeholders to continuously evolve VIOLET GREY’s social media strategy that grows brand affinity, engagement, reach, audience and, as a result, conversion.
Manage VIOLET GREY’s social media content in terms of scheduling posts.
Monitor, listen, and respond to users in a “social way” using the VIOLET GREY voice.
Establish a reporting mechanism to inform stakeholders of all social media activities and coverage, particularly relating to the CGC program.
Actively contribute to Brand Management team brainstorms, suggesting seeding programs and other methods of creative influencer engagement.
Keep apprised of the media landscape and the celebrity, influencer, and pop culture spaces, constantly discovering relevant talent to engage with and onboard to our committee.
Build on existing media relationships while creating new contacts (long-lead and short-lead, mainstream media, trade, and blogs), working to secure positive coverage for VIOLET GREY in the media.
Research product placement opportunities and secure day to day placement in all key media to drive sales.
Monitor VIOLET GREY’s press coverage and analyze performance, identify areas for improvement, and recommend ways to increase exposure.
Invite and secure committee members, celebrities, influencers, and editors to attend and participate in VIOLET GREY’s offline events.
Act as a VIOLET GREY ambassador.
We are seeking a dynamic community director with an entrepreneurial spirit, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.
5-7 years in social media, public relations, or influencer marketing with a luxury fashion, beauty brand, or digital media company.
An established network of contacts including beauty influencers, talent agencies, and/or within the media industry is preferred.
A proven track record achieving and exceeding goals.
Excellent analytical skills.
Innovative and collaborative problem solver with a drive for results.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Positive, enthusiastic, and compassionate team player.
Experience with media and social media insights platforms (e.g. Dash Hudson, Meltwater) and project management tools (e.g. Asana) is a bonus.
